The Entel DX425 is one of the most compact, affordable business radios available. Delivering clear and excellent quality audio, this radio is the ideal communication tool for businesses. This radio is approved to IP68 rated construction resulting in them being protected against dust and are fully Submersible, this includes when the accessory cover is removed. Meeting MIL STD 810 C/D/E/F/G and providing commercial grade construction for tough, enduring performance. This radio conforms to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of both dust and moisture, this ensures that businesses are able to use them for long periods of time, hassle free.

The screen on the DX425 is high contrast white on black OLED display, this delivers superior readability in various lighting conditions which helps to add to the radios intuitive user interface. Within this radio you are able to receive DMRA compliant text messages from other devices, this includes however not limited to, alarm panels, PC dispatchers and other radios. The DX425 can be programmed with three display UI options, these are: basic, simple and advanced. These are easy to read through to a fully informative display making it simple for businesses to understand who is communicating with them. Within the display screen you are able to send pre-defined text messages to other DMR radios which support the industry standard DMRA protocol. In addition to this you are able to add a personal touch of your logo to the display screen, this makes the radio unique to you and is easy to identify who it belongs to due to the logo appearing on screen when you are booting up the radio. With the Entel DX425 there is the option for contact list search, with larger systems finding the contact who you want to call can be hard and time consuming, with this function then you are able to search for who you are wanting to contact and this will save time. This is useful for businesses who have several people to contact as they will be able to find people at the push of a button.

The two slot simplex splits a single analogue channel into two separate channels resulting in the quantity of channels available doubling. Two-slot operation is typically only possible when a DMR Repeater is included in a system however with the Entel DX425 then they are able to overcome the restriction on both simplex and DMR446 channels so both channels are always available to the user. With the Entel DX425 then it has multiple channel zones, with this radio then it can support 8 channel zones with up to 256 channels per zone. The zones are able to be used to store channels for use at different sites and user groups.

The lone-worker feature on the DX425 is designed to protect people who are working alone. The radios has a lone-worker timer which checks that the radio user is okay, if no response is received then the radio will automatically send an alarm call to other radio users, in addition to this then the alarm alerts non-radio users in the vicinity to the emergency. Another safety feature which the Entel DX425 has is the man-down alarm, this is again designed to protect people working alone. With this feature, if someone falls and becomes unconscious, the man-down sensor will automatically send an alarm call to other radios. The local alarm also alerts non-radio users in the vicinity to the emergency. Due to the Entel DX425 being a display radio then the radio unique ID is also displayed.

The DX425 is the perfect communicating solution for business due to the quantity of features which are included. With the ability of both individual and group calling you are able to have a 1-2-1 conversation or call two or more radios at once, this ensures that you can communicate with however many people you need to reach out to with ease. In addition to this then you are able to monitor two or more groups through the multiple receive groups feature. This is useful for businesses who need to keep an eye on multiple people at one time, for example a manager needing to monitor the reception team and maintenance team. Due to having a display screen, this radio has the caller ID function which works just like a mobile phone, it comes up with the radio number or alias such as reception on the screen so you are able to know who you are communicating with.

The gold plated accessory connector helps to minimise any risk or damage to the multi-pin interface and the micro-USB socket, alongside helping to protect against damage, the gold plated connector also helps to protect the radio against corrosion resulting in the radio lasting longer. The lockable accessory connector has been designed in order to ensure that when an accessory is secured to the portable then the connection is able to withstand any amount of punishment, this includes things such as dropping the radio or careless misuse from the operator.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

    • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
    • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
    • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
    • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

    Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

    I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

    • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
    • For digital radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • Which colour code you use
      • Which digital group ID you use
    • For analogue radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
