The DT585 is the latest addition to Entels range of Intrinsically Safe Radios, the rugged radio delivers loud, clear audio alongside outstanding audio clarity. The design of this radio enables the ergonomic controls to be used with gloved hands making this the ideal radio for businesses who work in tough environments.

The DT585 radio has a IP68 rating resulting in it being protected against dust and fully Submersible, this is useful for businesses who work in harsh environments as it means that they will be protected against everyday conditions which they may come across. Alongside this, the DT525 meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/D standards and provides commercial grade construction for tough, enduring performances. This radio conforms to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture, this again helps industries such as construction, logistics and transportation.

The Entel DT585 is supplied with the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery technology. An advantage of this battery is the way in which it eliminates 'memory effect', this means that there is no need to fully discharge the battery before recharging, alongside this it gives the operator reassurance that the battery will have full charge when they come to use it.

With the DT585 , it has improved and added features on the radio through the way of software updates, with this then it uses Flash Upgrade technology resulting in your radio being able to be upgraded by your dealer at anytime. This is good for businesses as it means that they are able to ensure that there radios are kept up to date at all times to keep them fresh and ensure that they get the most out of the radios.

The robust accessory socket has been specifically designed in order to ensure that when an accessory is secured to the portable, then the connection is able to withstand any amount of punishment, this includes dropping of the radio and careless misuse. This is again useful for businesses especially in sectors such as transportation and logistics as it means that they are able to know that the radio is protected in these harsh environments if someone did accidentally drop the radio or through slight operation misuse.

We understand that every business has different requirements when it comes to radios and it can be hard to find the 'perfect' radio. With the Entel DT585 then it has the option for programmable buttons, with this then you are able to ensure that the radio meets your exact needs as the buttons can be programmed with the exact features which you require.

The accessory audio tailoring identifies the attached accessory on the radio and then automatically adjusts the settings to ensure that the most natural and readable audio possible is delivered, this ensure that the clearest communication is portrayed and all messages are clear. Another feature which this radio has is voice annunciation, this feature is able to announce the channel position which is selected or if it is a marine model then it can give the marine channel number. This then gives further assurance to the user that they have selected the correct channel which allows them to focus on the task in hand.

In order to ensure that the radio operator is safe at all times the Entel DT585 has included some safety features to ensure they can get assistance at the press of a button. The emergency button will instantly send an alarm call to other radios when pressed alongside sounding a local alarm, with this radio the radios unique ID will be displayed so you can see who requires help. Both the lone-worker and man-down alarm are designed to protect lone workers. The lone-worker timer checks that the radio user is okay, if there is not a response received then the radio will automatically send an alarm call to the other radios, in addition to then then a local alarm will alert non-radio users in the vicinity to the emergency. With the man-down alarm then it will will detect if someone falls and becomes unconscious, from here the man-down sensor will automatically send an alarm call to other radios as well as a local alarm alerting non-radio users in the vicinity.

Individual calling allows you to have a 1-2-1 call where only you and the person which you called is in the conversation, this is useful for people who are wanting to have a private call. With group calling then you are able to instantly address two or more radios at a time, this is useful for businesses who want to communicate with several people at one time as they can simply do it at the push of a button. The multiple receive groups allows you to monitor two or more groups at a time, this is a useful function for businesses as it enables you to monitor the team effectively from one device. Just like a mobile phone, the DT585 displays who is calling you on the display screen, this allows people to see who is calling you.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

    • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
    • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
    • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
    • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

    Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

    I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

    • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
    • For digital radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • Which colour code you use
      • Which digital group ID you use
    • For analogue radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
