The Entel DT885FF is an industrial grade DTEx fire fighter series which has been designed and approved to meet the latest MED standard implementation regulation MED/5.20 and European ATEX directive. The ultra durable fire-red coloured radio sets the benchmark for the next-generation MED compliant, Firefighter radios.

The DT885FF Marine can be programmed with both analogue and digital channels, this is clearly indicated on the display alongside the frequency, if a semi-duplex channel is programmed then the word 'Repeater' will be displayed instead of the frequency.

The DT885FF radio has a IP68 rating resulting in it being protected against dust and fully Submersible, this is useful for businesses who work in harsh environments as it means that they will be protected against everyday conditions which they may come across. Alongside this, the DT885FF meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/D standards and provides commercial grade construction for tough, enduring performances. This radio conforms to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture, this again helps industries such as construction, logistics and transportation.

The Entel DT885FF is supplied with the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery technology. An advantage of this battery is the way in which it eliminates 'memory effect', this means that there is no need to fully discharge the battery before recharging, alongside this it gives the operator reassurance that the battery will have full charge when they come to use it.

The robust accessory socket has been specifically designed in order to ensure that when an accessory is secured to the portable, then the connection is able to withstand any amount of punishment, this includes dropping of the radio and careless misuse. This is again useful for businesses especially in sectors such as transportation and logistics as it means that they are able to know that the radio is protected in these harsh environments if someone did accidentally drop the radio or through slight operation misuse.

We understand that every business has different requirements when it comes to radios and it can be hard to find the 'perfect' radio. With the Entel DT885FF then it has the option for programmable buttons, with this then you are able to ensure that the radio meets your exact needs as the buttons can be programmed with the exact features which you require.

The Entel DT885FF benefits from a high contrast white on black OLED display which delivers superior readability in varying lighting conditions. Alongside having a high contrast screen this radio delivers loud, crisp audio no matter what environment you are working in. With this radio there are a range of accessories which incorporate a robust locking plug and high-grade cable, this automatically detects the type of accessory which is connected and then optimizes the audio accordingly in order to deliver the best performance.

With this Entel radio there is a free, unique PC app which you are able to use in order to easily re-program your radio whilst still onboard. This user friendly app makes it easy and simple to drag and drop a new programming file from an email to the radio, this is a simple and seamless process which can be carried out by a non-technical personnel. This is useful for businesses as they do not have to worry about being without their radios for long periods of time whilst they send the radio back to be reprogrammed.

If you have channel protection enabled on your radio then all other signals other than your own networks will be filtered out, this can be temporarily disabled which allows you to monitor all signals on your channel.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

    • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
    • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
    • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
    • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

    Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

    I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

    • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
    • For digital radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • Which colour code you use
      • Which digital group ID you use
    • For analogue radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
