The DX422 digital radio is the most compact affordable business critical radios which will help to delivery outstanding audio, clarity, quality and volume making communication easy. Being ultra compact, lightweight and able to use in dual-mode, the DX422 radio deploys the latest DMR digital technology which is combined with Entel audio tailoring technology in order to ensure the best possible range and clarity.

Being IP68 rated and MIL STD 810 C/D/E/F/G standards, this radio is able to undertake the toughest and harshest of working environments and still be protected against dust and submersion into water. This radio has been conformed to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture. The audio on the DX422 radio is outstanding and with 3 watts of natural sounding digital audio you can be sure to have clear effective communication.

Coming with the latest, high-capacity, intelligent Lithium-Ion  battery technology you can be sure to have a reliable radio. An advantage of this battery technology is the way it eliminates 'memory effect', this means that there is no need to fully discharge your battery before you recharge it, as a result of this then you are assured of a full charge every time you take the battery from the charger. This is useful for businesses as it means that they will always have a reliable battery at the start of their shift to ensure the best clear communication.

The DMR Digital standard splits a single 1205Khz analogue channel into two separate channels which results in the number of channels available to the operator doubling. Two-slot operation is typically only possible when a DMR Repeater is included within the system however the Entel DMR radios are able to overcome this restriction on both Simplex & DMR446 channels so both channels are always available to the user no matter on the channel type. The DX422 is able to ensure that everyone is kept safe at all times due to it having an emergency button. If you press the emergency button on the radio then it will instantly send an alarm call to other radios alongside sounding a local alarm, this gives businesses a peace of mind that you are safe when in operation due to being able to call for help in one simple click.

The Lone-Worker alarm is designed to protect people who are working alone. The radio lone-worker timer checks that the radio user is okay, if there is not a response received then the radio will automatically send an alarm call to other radios. From here the local alarm alerts non-radio users to the emergency, this is good for businesses as they are able to have a protection for people who are working alone and ensure that they are kept safe. The man-down alarm is also designed to help protect lone workers. With this if someone should fall and become unconscious then the sensor will automatically send an alarm to call other radios. This ensures that if you have an accident when working alone you will be able to get help instantly.

With the Entel DX422 then you have the option for both individual and group calling. With individual calling then you are able to have a 1-2-1 calls where only you and the person you called is in the conversation, with this then you have the option to ring the radio and wait for the person to answer or alternatively you are able to make an instant call without ringing first. This is useful for businesses as they have the option for private calls as well as 1-2-1's which from time to time maybe required. In addition to this there is the option for multiple receive groups, within this feature then you are able to monitor two or more groups at a time. This is useful for a manager who maybe requires to keep an eye and monitor the groups which they manage.

Every business has different requirements therefore finding a radio which is suitable can be hard from time to time. With the DX422 then there is the option for programmable buttons. With this then you are able to ensure that the radio meets your exact needs and have all of the features which you require. The gold plated, locking accessory connector help to minimise any risk of damage and help to protect against corrosion. The lockable accessory connector has been specifically designed so that when an accessory is secured to the portable, the connected is able to withstand any amount of dropping from careless misuse for example. This is a useful feature for businesses due to the volume of people using a radio could result in careless misuse.

The Entel DX422 has the benefit of the end user programmer. Through using the Entel innovative End User Programmer app then you are able to easily upgrade your radio without having to send it back to the place of purchase, this saves businesses time and it results in them being able to keep their radios due to having the ability to update radios in house.

When operating in industries such as retail, construction, hospitality and so on businesses need an effective way of communicating to everyone at once, with the all call feature then it gives you the ability to call all radios on the channel at one time. This is useful when making important announcements such as emergency safety evacuations and so on.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

    • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
    • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
    • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
    • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

    Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

    I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

    • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
    • For digital radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • Which colour code you use
      • Which digital group ID you use
    • For analogue radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
