The Entel HT883 is the ideal radio for businesses who require reliable, effective communication, the first time you handle the HT883 you will be impressed through the superior build and quality of the radio. This handheld device is ideal for someone who requires an entry level, no compromise, intrinsically safe marine hand portable.

The HT883 radio has a IP68 rating resulting in it being protected against dust and fully Submersible, this is useful for businesses who work in harsh environments as it means that they will be protected against everyday conditions which they may come across. Alongside this, the HT942 meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/D standards and provides commercial grade construction for tough, enduring performances. This radio conforms to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture, this again helps industries such as construction, logistics and transportation.

The Entel HT883 is supplied with the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery technology. An advantage of this battery is the way in which it eliminates 'memory effect', this means that there is no need to fully discharge the battery before recharging, alongside this it gives the operator reassurance that the battery will have full charge when they come to use it.

With the HT883, it has improved and added features on the radio through the way of software updates, with this then it uses Flash Upgrade technology resulting in your radio being able to be upgraded by your dealer at anytime. This is good for businesses as it means that they are able to ensure that there radios are kept up to date at all times to keep them fresh and ensure that they get the most out of them.

The robust accessory socket has been specifically designed in order to ensure that when an accessory is secured to the portable, then the connection is able to withstand any amount of punishment, this includes dropping of the radio and careless misuse. This is again useful for businesses especially in sectors such as transportation and logistics as it means that they are able to know that the radio is protected in these harsh environments if someone did accidentally drop the radio or through slight operation misuse.

In order to avoid accidental operation with the radio then the HT883 has a keylock function. With this radio then you are able to lock the keypad to ensure that you do not accidentally press any of the buttons. This can be done by the user or you are able to set this so that the radio automatically locks the keypad if required.

When using an Entel VOX enabled audio accessory then you are able to use the HT883 hands free. With this then all you have to do is talk and the radio will automatically transmit for you. This is useful for businesses where they require the operator to work hands free, you are able to simply clip the radio onto your belt loop and continue with the role as well as being able to communicate when required.

The Entel HT883 has the facility to scan for an active channel, when this is detected then the radio will automatically select it for you. With the priority scan function then it allows you to select one channel in the scan list which is then treated as a priority. This channel is then checked more frequently in comparison to other channels in the list. In addition to this you are able to have a function called channel protection, with this then all signals other than your own networks will be filtered out, this can be temporarily disabled which allows you to monitor all signals on your channel.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

    • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
    • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
    • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
    • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

    Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

    I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

    • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
    • For digital radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • Which colour code you use
      • Which digital group ID you use
    • For analogue radios:
      • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
      • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
