The Entel HT982s a radio built for tough, enduring performance which will exceed the expectations of even the most experienced radio users. The radio provides instantaneous push-to-talk communication and will ensure that you will stay connected throughout.

The HT982s radio has a IP68 rating resulting that it is protected against dust and fully Submersible, this is useful for businesses who work in harsh environments as it means that they will be protected against everyday conditions which they may come across. Alongside this, the HT982s meets MIL-STD 810 C/D/E/D standards and provides commercial grade construction for tough, enduring performances. This radio conforms to stringent standards which enables them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock, vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture, this again helps industries such as construction, logistics and transportation.

The Entel HT982s is supplied with the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery technology. An advantage of this battery is the way in which it eliminates 'memory effect', this means that there is no need to fully discharge the battery before recharging, alongside this it gives the operator reassurance that the battery will have full charge.

The robust accessory socket has been specifically designed in order to ensure that when an accessory is secured to the portable, then the connection is able to withstand any amount of punishment, this includes dropping of the radio and careless misuse.

With the HT982s it has a display screen meaning you are able to see things such as the channel name. Alongside this there is a keylock included as a feature to avoid any accidental operation to your radio keys and controls, this can be done by the user or you are able to set your radio to do this automatically.

When using a Entel VOX enabled audio accessory, then you are able to use the radio hands free. With this all you have to do is simply talk and then you will automatically transmit for you. This is useful for businesses who require people to have hands free communication, this way they are able to clip the radio onto the belt loop and communication with ease.

The HT982s has the facility to scan for an active channel, when this channel is found then the radio will automatically select it for you. The priority scan will allow you to select one channel in the scan list which is treated as a priority, this will then be checked more frequently than all other channels in the list. If you have channel protection enabled on the radio then all other signals other than your own networks will be filtered out.

Some radio systems use a 'repeater' in order to increase the systems range, when you go outside the range of the repeater then communication with other radios is not possible no matter how close you are. With the talkaround feature then you are enabled to talk directly with another radio, bypassing the repeater.

The lone-worker feature on the HT982s is designed to protect people who are working alone. The radios has a lone-worker timer which checks that the radio user is okay, if no response is received then the radio will automatically send an alarm call to other radio users, in addition to this then the alarm alerts non-radio users in the vicinity to the emergency. Another safety feature which the Entel HT982s has is the man-down alarm, this is again designed to protect people working alone. With this feature, if someone falls and becomes unconscious, the man-down sensor will automatically send an alarm call to other radios. The local alarm also alerts non-radio users in the vicinity to the emergency. Due to the Entel HT982s being a display radio then the radio unique ID is also displayed.

Yes! This radio is a full-power unit which works on licensed spectrum. Here’s a few important points to remember:

      • Licencing is really easy and cost effective, so don’t be put off
      • You only licence the frequency (channel) your radios use, not the number of radios or handsets
      • If you’re buying radios to use outside of the UK, you will need to get a licence from your country’s regulatory body
      • Want us to guide you through it? Call us on 01778 426777 or email info@theradioshop.co.uk

      Buy a licence online:

You can choose from one of the following two options to buy a licence online. Once you place your order, we’ll apply for the licence for you, which is valid for 5 years. Ofcom will then contact you directly in 5 years’ time to arrange the renewal.

Remember: you don’t need a licence per radio, just a licence per fleet of radios. One licence will usually provide enough cover for your company or site (or you as an individual if you’re buying for private use)

      I already have a licence:

If you already have radios, you should already have a licence. If you’d like your new radios to work with your existing fleet, you need to send us:

      • A copy of your existing Ofcom licence
      • For digital radios:
        • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
        • Which colour code you use
        • Which digital group ID you use
      • For analogue radios:
        • Let us know which frequencies are in which channel
        • What CTCSS/TPL/DPL tone you use

Alternatively, you can send us a programming file from one of your existing radios, or even post us one of your existing handsets so that we can make sure we match it correctly.

Note that we accept no responsibility for radios which do not work due to incorrectly provided information. We’ll program your radios for free upon order, but if they don’t work and need re-programming there will be a £10 + VAT fee per unit.
